I honestly do not mind it one but. I quite like the interface. It’s minimal but there are some bugs to it which is to be expected. I really do like the overall design of it though. There isn’t too much going on. It’s like old Reddit which I am a big fan of
The app I’m using is pretty nice and reminds me of Relay.
But it’s clear that most people will not be able to adapt to this without an actual sort of marketing push or hype around it, and with a vast dumbing down of the UX. Right now, explaining any of this to a regular person is going to make them think of crypto or something. That’s a negative.
True. It’s a shame people are so hesitant to understand something new. Lemmy really isn’t that complicated, and its not even as if you’re joining pre-existing communities. Everyone is new here
That’s one of the reasons people may stay away. There just isn’t content.
Also there isn’t even an iOS app I’m now learning??? Vast majority of Reddit use is on iPhone.
Isn’t there one called Mlem? It seems to have an active community too.
People understand the emailanologuy for instances. We just need to alter the language used. Make an account with a provider and access Lemmy.
Sweet and simple.
What app are you using?
Jerboa
I just installed Jerboa to chamge instance go to settings top left and hit the little down arrow. Couldn’t figure it out for a minute.
I just explain it as a more granular version of Reddit. Would you like an entire LOTR Reddit with multiple subreddits all within the same service? Lemmy can do that!
