It’s shocking how out of touch some developers can be when it comes to delivering a product that the players want, especially when those developers hold actual positions of power over the rest of the team (directing and managerial roles).
Volition also did this with Red Faction: Armageddon. They took everything that was good about Guerrilla, threw all of it in the bin and then made Armageddon.
So Volition have form for not doing what the players want.
