I grew up going to church but I’m not religious now and I never really understood this part.

Please, no answers along the lines of “aha, that’s why Christianity is a sham” or “religions aren’t logical”. I don’t want to debate whether it’s right or wrong, I just want to understand the logic and reasoning that Christians use to explain this.

      i think @10A generally does describe what I learned in my past growing up in a Christian household - although I’m not religious anymore. It’s not about doing bad stuff and then being saved, but just doing good things as a result of believing in God and striving to be like Jesus and whatnot.

      Now, whether people who claim to be Christians act in that way is another story - in my experience Christianity that I witness in the world today is very contradictory from whatever the Bible says lol
