The Orthodox church is a kind, welcoming church of ancient and apostolic origin. It also has clear beliefs and, in my experience, makes an effort to hold it’s clergy accountable for deviations from the teachings of Christ and the apostles. Clergy get suspended/deposed for far more pedestrian infractions. There is no home for such people in the church. I encourage you to attend a parish and judge for yourself. As the user above mentioned as well, the person in question was excommunicated.
