I find it hilarious that even GitHub forces you to login now just to use code search. This wasn’t a thing in the past and GitHub never announced these changes anywhere from what I seen they simply changed how the site search worked silently.

For some reason the first thing I thought of were moats and drawbridges. Seems like everyone is fortifying themselves from something. Is it fear of loss of money or fear of AI itself or something else?
