I mean I do think that whatever encourages people to read is great, but I know I’m getting old when I read in the article like this:
Filming themselves finishing a book in a single day against a backdrop of hundreds of them on shelves is all part of the performance, and viewers will be extra impressed if the book looks thick.
And just think “wtf?”
I’ve gotten some good book recommendations through tiktok. But at the same time, the average tiktok video gives me like 3-5 recommendations. I see multiple of these videos every day. My to read list basically requires me stop working and live until my mid 250s to read everything…
You should put A Canticle for Leibowitz on the top of your list. Cant recommend that book enough. Extremely relevant post nuclear apocalypse scifi written in the 50’s that reads like it could have been written yesterday the writing style is so good!
