It’s very similar logic and evidence that the folks that claim we should’ve invaded Saudi Arabia instead. A bit off topic, but how many dislikes do you see, and what app are you using, or are you using the website? I couldn’t see any downvotes on kbin, or in jerboa when you posted.
Those appeared later. I’d like to learn more about how kbin/Lemmy work. It is possible that the dislike came from their instance, and it just took some time for kbin to update it, or possibly there are some dislikes from other instances that we can’t see here.

Afghanistan didn’t have a false Cassus belli, that was Iraq. Ironically Iraq appears to be doing okay these days.

They’re getting downvotes because the US does have moral high ground over Russia, easily.
The US has done horrible shit, and it’s not nearly as bad as Russia.
But we arent being compared to Russia here, rather Ukraine
This is the lone congressperson to vote against the Afghanistan War. The US is a monolith in many ways, but this is not the post to do it in.
