All it took was one guy. Travis Dermott is a legend. I’m actually considering getting a jersey with his name on it.

This was the only move they had. It was bad enough but the PR they would get for fining Dermott would have been terrible. Bettman never thought this through and just assumed players would fall in line like they usually do. Respect to Dermott but it didn’t even take a big name in a big market. The rest of the players should take note and be more vocal.

I’ve got nothing but admiration for Dermott here, but I’m actually kind of surprised how quickly the NHL switched on this.

Now I totally agree with what you’re saying, but even then…I can’t believe how quickly they u-turned on it. Begs the question, how much time, if any did they put into the original discussion.

I’m pretty sure the conversation went like this:

“we are getting rid of on ice event night uniforms and attire”

        “What about tape”

        " Yeah sure that too"

    Dermott beat the NHL

We know the NHL is anti-gay but at least their pocketbooks matter more to them than their morals

Probably wont be going to a coyote game this year, but defintely would give him a loud cheer if he gets traded to a team that i will attend.
