Basically what it says on the can: why do you use weed? Are you a purely recreational user? Do you use for medical purposes, with or without a prescription? Do you use for a mental health condition? We’re all probably some blend of these. What’s your use case?

Personally, I do use cannabis medicinally to help me sleep. Neither weed nor melatonin cuts it alone, but weed and quick dissolve melatonin is just the right thing. I also use for recreational purposes. It’s just fun to do things stoned. I also use heavily for religious/spiritual reasons. I’m a Discordian, and keeping a flexible mind full of doubt is important to that. Weed is helpful in resisting the siren call of comforting certainty. As a casual psychedelic, it keeps me thinking in interesting ways.

I’ve had a complicated relationship with cannabis my whole life. When I was younger, every time I tried it, I didn’t care for it. Then I started hearing about medical use, and I thought it was just an excuse to get high (which I was 100% in favor of, I’ve never been a Prohibitionist). Then came my injury. I tried again and still didn’t like it, nor did it seem to help.

Years go by, and a friend brought me some edibles from CO after they legalized it, and I found at a low dose, I could get significant pain relief with little to no high, and I’ve been a daily user since then. After a while, I learned to appreciate the feeling, so I indulge in it occasionally as well.

I’m glad you found a mode of use that works well for you! If the THC is what makes you uncomfortable, you could try ratio edibles with more CBD/CBG/CBN than THC. They’ll all help with the pain relief while helping tone down the effects of the THC. The CBN might make you feel more stoned, but it’s a potent sleep aid and muscle relaxer, so it might also calm you enough to counteract THC induced anxiety.

Ive been taking cannabis for about 20 years. Moved to a state with a medical program. “Doctor” gave me a rx for “arthritis”. Finally get health insurance. See real doctor. Diagnosed with arthritis.

Sometimes, you just want to feel the movie differently. Or combine THC high with a runners high and feel light as a feather. Or to give yourself the courage to mix up lunch and try a fried spam, cheese, Sriracha honey sauce Eggo sandwich.

Or you’ve been meaning to clean the whole house with that album you’ve been meaning to hear blasting from your pocket.

Or sometimes, I do nothing at all in a comfy chair outside by the bird feeder. Just watch the clouds spin overhead and dream of where you are in the universe. Or stare at yourself. Or empty your mind entirely and just breathe. Or listen.

No one knows when weed is getting in the way of life instead of augmenting it better than you. Enjoy responsibly, my friends!

lmao it’s unironically a go-to for me now.

        Fry some spam

Sandwich it in 2 eggos. Cheese. Sriracha-honey sauce.

Throw that removed in an air fryer

        chefs kiss

It regulates my GI system/nervous system. It gives me appetite. It provides pain relief. It provides anxiety relief. It helps me sleep.

It’s also fun and I love rec use. But I use it a lot for its medicinal value. I’m disabled FWIW and usually on a lower therapy dose throughout the day. edit:grammar

I’m super jealous of people who have a “medicated not intoxicated” point with thc. Even with my monster tolerance, any thc sends my executive function right out the window. I can see so many paths, but I can’t pick one. I can get some low stakes stuff done with thc in my system, but I gotta stay sober to be seriously productive.

I was psychologically and emotionally abused by someone with the same personality disorder as Donald Trump, but much more intelligent.

I use cannabis to numb the constant pit in my stomach that makes everything gloomy and nothing positive. Otherwise, I’d be constantly spacing out in derealisation. Cannabis helps me focus on life, positive things, my work, my wife, my responsibilities.

It’s no miracle cure, but it helps me be a productive and positive person easier.

I have absolutely been there. Hell, I still occasionally spend a day or two there. Long story short, my parents are bad people. Cannabis helps lubricate my brain so I can work it into less painful formations. For me, it also lets my brain slip and slide into bad formations. I usually stick to CBG during the day. I’m so fucking productive with some CBG in me. You’re doing the right thing. Just keep moving forward and stay in control.

When I’m toking solo it’s nearly always medical use. I’m an extremely heavy user now that the years of hard wear on my body have left me with a multitude of problems that are only treatable with “pain management.” Opioids are awful and weed has become a welcome replacement for them in my life. I was never addicted to them but the on again off again use causes me horrible withdrawal symptoms that are worse than the conditions they are meant to treat. Weed doesn’t have that effect on me.

Recreational use really only happens at social gatherings for me. If a friend and I get together or we have a get together with friends or family I always make sure I bring more than enough for everyone so that no one is left out and everyone can get what it takes for some relief.

Some don’t partake at all, some use it medicinally, some people just like to be high. It’s not my place to judge, just be respectful and live and let live.

I have two primary use cases for pot. I use it with my wife to have a great time, enjoy takeout after the kids go to bed, laugh like maniacs, and have a little adult fun. It keeps us connected when life gives us little alone time. That usually happens weekly. We also like to take mini vacations without the kids to cities where it is legal and explore while baked.

Many other nights of the week, I use cannabis without her to keep my sanity. My family consists of multiple autistic people with competing needs, and my job is to balance those needs so we can operate as a unit. It is exhausting. By night I generally feel a lot of emotional exhaustion, and physical pain also creeps in from multiple chronic health issues from over the years. Pot kills the pain, and it pins my emotions to happy. I can relax and have an hour or two to feel like all is right with the world.

I constantly monitor myself for addiction. I avoid using some nights just to ensure I can. I do not want to have to stop this thing that brings me joy during hard times. I am getting a little worried about my increasing tolerance, but I am trying to watch that as well.

If I’m high, I don’t suffer anxiety attacks like I do when I’m totally sober and just going out in public.

I also like the way it makes my body feel in general. Really good shit makes me feel like I’m walking around in a dream. No weight, no aches, no pain, slightly numb but not so numb I can’t feel anything. It’s cool.

So I use it as a reward for when I’m productive, or as a way to ease anxiety. But not every time, as my family has a long history of addiction on both sides of my family. I know I’m prone to it from my hobbies that can involve loot crates/card packs.

But I try to have a self made and followed rule of “If I’m going to be a stoner, I’m going to be a productive stoner.” So did I do my medical appointments? Organize my weeks chores? Then it’s a probably.

I just try to not make it a coping mechanism for myself, as if I did it every time I felt shitty or great, I’d be rewarding my bipolar with weed. It’s a tool for me as much as it is to make myself feel better.

I use weed because I really like the effect, I prefer it much to Alcohol which doesn’t do much for me. I feel that since I smoke weed instead of drinking I am much better off than I would have been the other way around.
