This is a baby crape myrtle. It is currently under grow lights until the sun comes to the patio then it is outside in the sun. One day I noticed the leaves are drooping a little bit and the sides are rolling inword down. I can’t figure out if I’m overwatering or under watering. Somebody please help me understand what I’m doing wrong and why it looks this way.

The soil looks wet just in the image so probably overwatering.

A good tip is not to water when the soil gets dry, but find a good stick, chopsticks work, stick it in and pull it out. If the stick is wet then it’s still wet down at the root level and you’re probably causing root rot

The picture was right after watering this morning so that may not be an indicator, but definitely good advice about the chopsticks I will do that, thank you

How often do you water the plant?
