Extended reality (XR) game development company Mirrorscape has announced its collaboration with Paizo, leading publisher of tabletop roleplaying games, to make acclaimed titles like Pathfinder and Starfinder available on Mirrorscape’s augmented reality tabletop gaming platform.

I reckon tech like this could be incredibly useful for remote groups as well. Seeing the chat stuff that Apple showed off at WWDC this year, and AR tech could make it so that you can play almost as though you’re around the same table. Maybe even be as though around the same table—but with your face altered to look like the character you’re playing! Or it could be excellent for groups where some people are able to gather around the same table, but others are not, letting them pop in almost as though they actually were there.
This is awesome tech. Unfortunately mutt gaming group is scattered, so I won’t be able too use it, but I hope lots of others can!
