      wait I misunderstood your question at first, but the way city propositions work, you don’t really need to be registered in the D / R party to vote for propositions.

      A proposition isn’t a partisan thing; it’s probably the closest to democracy you get in the US.

      Take Texas Proposition 3 from the 2023 elections:

      Sec. 25. The legislature may not impose a tax based on the wealth or net worth of an individual or family, including a tax based on the difference between the assets and liabilities of an individual or family

      This is not a partisan thing, but a leftist would oppose this state constitutional amendment (it passed with 67.88% of the vote)
