There is a possibility that your Lemmy instance was unavailable due to maintenance causing the problem. Then it became available again while you reinstalled, making it look like the reinstall fixed it.
It was a pure white screen. I have multiple accounts across different instances. I was unable to even switch to a different account. The entire app crapped out.
