I don’t know understand what they call winning a war. War is politics by other means. 2 countries or more have soldiers fight to kill each other till one side concedes to the other. If one settles and concedes to the terms of the other country, that is defeat.
That’s the reality, but western libs have become incredibly invested in the war emotionally over the past two years and internalized the idea that Ukraine is winning the war while Russia is falling apart. Having to admit that they were wrong is not a thread they want to pull on because that raises a lot of uncomfortable questions such as the fact that western media is heavily propagandized and that they themselves are gullible.
