I grew up on the unedited original trilogy and was young enough to enjoy the prequels in theaters. The prequels have some problems but man was the sequel trilogy a misstep in so many ways. I’m a light hearted enough fan to accept it for what it is. But I can’t say I’m not enjoying the Disney+ series. They’ve each got highs and lows but the quality in my opinion is better than what they did with the sequel trilogy.

Hold for data lag … Oh right, I get you.
The TV shows are by and large definitely an improvement, even though they’re burdened with fixing the problems the films created.
I just wish Disney wouldn’t flip-flop between “Everything as a film!” and “Everything as a TV show!” and choose the right format for the story.

You’re dead on there. They need to keep subscribers for D+ so there’s a ton of series I get that for sure. Theaters are struggling and rushing out more movies isn’t doing them any favors. They’ve got to cash in on their investment and the steady stream of marvel has been working but the market is finally getting saturated. Star Wars doesn’t have quite the same expansive universe to work with but they need to be careful not to force it. They’re really teetering an edge right now and nailing the format would certainly help with both directions.
