I got you: (edited for formating)

      Hi mods

Why did you reopen this sub? If you were intent on keeping this sub private you were essentially out of a job already. Why did the threat of losing a volunteer job push you into opening up again?

This subreddit is about fighting for our rights, fighting against management and fighting for the idea of unemployment for all, not just the rich. You joined the fight about the api changes, took a strong stand and when management said that’s enough you had a choice. You decided to kiss their feet and say sorry sir.

Of all the subreddits I expected to see bend at the knee, it wasn’t this one.

      Be ashamed with yourselves

"Statement From The Moderators Hello, r/antiwork! As you’re probably aware, r/antiwork has been set to private until recently in solidarity with the sitewide protest against Reddit’s attempt to kill third-party apps. At the start of the protest, we received assurance from Reddit administration that mods have a right to protest and to set their subs private. Today, we received a message from Reddit that our mod team will be replaced if we do not open up the subreddit immediately.

The important takeaway here is Reddit does not care about this community and Reddit does not care about you. They see you as nothing more than a statistic to monetize. They do not care about the quality of this community. They do not care about the desires of the community or the mod team. We set the subreddit private to protect the community from the changes Reddit intends to force through, and Reddit is forcing the subreddit open because a worse user experience for you is more profitable for them.

Going forward, the mod team is going to lose some very important tools that we’ve relied on to keep you safe from spammers and scammers. This means we’re going to have to reassess our rules and procedures in order to serve you more effectively. The mod team will keep you updated on any developments. We thank you for your understanding.

    Many thanks,

    The r/antiwork mod team"

Basically, if they didnt open the subs, Reddit would replace them with pro-reddit mods and open it anyway. The lesser of two evils was to open it and prevent pro-reddit mods destroy the community. Solidarity also comes with understanding. Reddit is driving a wedge into the community. They want the community to attack each other instead of the real enemy, Reddit. Dont turn on the Mods, try and find a solution to fight reddit instead of infighting.

Maybe the mods didn’t want someone who does not represent the community to take charge. Imagine the damage they could do if they sticky some bullshit and then all of the corporate news cycles run with it.

They’re always trying to spin something like going back to the office or anti union bs.

It is better for the struggle to have control so they can point people here. If anyone still has an account maybe ask the mods to guide people here and perhaps join as mods too.

    Just my 2c

For people who don’t wanna go to reddit:
