A buoy near Manatee Bay recorded an astounding 101.1-degree water temperature Monday, a temperature common for hot tubs.
Warm water breeds stronger hurricanes quicker. This is pretty scary news for any Floridians who are already nervous about hurricane season.
Unfortunate time to lose some of their insurance providers.
They reelected Ron Desantis, fuck em
Didn’t you hear you’re not allowed to think such things, man. There are INNOCENTS that still live there and therefore we must coddle the whole state that collectively makes bad decisions. /s
I totally get the compassionate idea with that, but we kind of have to live and die as the collective. Seems we’ve chosen to die, some states faster than others. I’m glad I’m in a slower declining state.
I was born and raised in Florida. I left on my own as soon as I turned 18 and never looked back, that was 24 years ago. I still have people I care about in Florida, but it’s a big country and you’re free to move about as you please according to your priorities
Holy hell.
The news just keeps getting better.
What do you mean? There’s a ton of liberal areas like Miami that nevertheless have to live with 104 degree, 80% humidity. I actively thought that staying outside for more than 30 minutes was a health risk. And even if they’re conservative, I dread to think of how the elderly are handling this…

I keep checking Windy expecting to see a storm spiraling up. I hope El Nino keeps the hurricanes away this year…or Florida is going to hurt.
Will someone please hire me so I can move out of this state, please
But 100 degrees is boiling! /s
I had hopes that I would not experience US defaultism on the fediverse, but alas.
Edit: to be clear, I did not expect a conversion to celcius, just F displayed as the unit.
For those wondering, this is about 38.3°C, so one degree above body temperature.
Don’t threaten me with a good time!
