Вцілілий УМПК від російської авіабомби, який, ймовірно, відпав під час польоту або бомба просто не здетонувала.

A surviving UMPC from a russian air bomb, which probably fell off during the flight or the bomb simply did not detonate.

Is there any electronics in these at all? I thought they were totally passive that just are just strapped to dumb bombs. I didn’t even think there was a motor to open the “wings”. I imagined they just spring open when the bomb+glidepart release from the aircraft. The benefit is the pilots can release the bombs farther away from the targets and not put their aircraft as close to the front lines which is close to enemy Air Defense. I’m happy to be proven wrong.

It looks like this on a Russian bomb:

American JDAM bombs (which also have the glide part) are indeed electronically guided.

These glide kits essentially turn dumb bombs into smart ones. The prevailing military doctrine in the West has been that precession Trumps force every time. Hence these kits.

Russians followed suit in their usual way, with abysmal target accuracies. But when combined with enough boom, close enough will suffice.
