I don’t have a lot of direct evidence for this but it seems like TSMC has some pretty massive geopolitical reasons to make sure this project is slow going.
TSMC doesn’t want to surrender its technology to the US government. We all know if the TSMC fabs get built in the US and are cutting edge, the US government will bomb TSMC’s fabs in Taiwan.
