The idea for the slow motion explosion came from the movie The Hobbit… I think it was The Battle of the Five Armies where Legolas was stepping on falling rocks faster than they could fall to get himself up a falling tower. It’s an unrealistic and ridiculous scene, and also one of my favorites haha. So I figured something so over the top and so unrealistic could be really fun to play in a TTRPG. Just imagine it - as a deadly explosion is taking place, time has slowed down as the players suddenly find themselves being able to move incredibly fast. The bad guys are still beating them up (or maybe the bad guys are getting incinerated as they fall through the cracks?) as the players are jumping from one moving rock to another to get themselves to safety.
