Other services might suffer from the same problem, but Spotify’s shuffler, for one, does not truly shuffle; it is useless, as is every other thing about Spotify. I can’t think of another company that has an unbroken 17-year track record of making their client worse with every single update and every single new feature.

Anyway, use https://spotifyshuffler.com/ to shuffle your playlists.

League of Legends is pretty close. It released in 2009, 3 years after Spotify. Its client has been getting worse every update for a very long time. Though they recently forced Vanguard into the game so I haven’t played it since I uninstalled right before that update.

It’s weird how many people look at me like I’m stupid when they find out I don’t pay for Spotify and I have my own music…

Sadly can’t be used on Liked playlist which is the one I shuffle more than anything. Guess I can make copies of it and shuffle.

How well does this 3rd party shuffler work? I’m always a bit leery about giving out access to my Spotify playlists, but if I can get better shuffles that do not somehow repeat the same tracks I heard yesterday (out of thousands), I may try it.

I’ve used it for years without issues. It creates a new playlist with all the tracks in a new, truly random order, and then removes the old playlist from your library. Don’t think there’s an upper limit on the number of tracks. You can recover the playlists it removes from your library from Spotify’s own site if you want to go back to a previous version. I have never had to do this.
