Masterpiece? I’m playing through it right now and honestly, I would rather take the other two souls game I played (DS3 and 2) over Elden Ring any day of the week. If you haven’t played it, I recommend you don’t buy into the fanboy hype about it being “one of the best games of all time”. I made that mistake, and whilst it sounded like a sound take at the beginning of the game with the novelty of the open world, QoL changes and a horse, once all of that newfound charm wears off and you enter the end game where people legit have to respec just to beat one fucking boss because the game is ridiculously unbalanced and the boss design is objectively trash, you quickly begin to realize that giving this game GOTY inspite of its quite blatant flaws was a major fucking mistake.

Probably the most popular game ever here in the Balkans. It’s a thing where we were so little here and obviously didn’t know a lick of English, we would just type in cheats and blow shit up. It’s so culturally relevant, there are still Balkan multiplayer servers even to this day.

Isn’t Trump kinda the one to bring that about tho? Idk much about howard dean, but I assume he was at least somewhat respected as a politician beforehand. With that scream, in a kind of patriarchical society creating a mythos of education and prestige around politicians, revolving around political etiquette that scream is simply seen as infantile and unserious. Trump entered politics as that kind of infantile and unserious candidate in the first place, being a cartoonish, stereotypical, Saul Goodman-esque figure. In the end, it’s all about expectations that people set. Nobody believed agent orange would win, but in the end he did because he represented a kind of tonal shift in american politics, not to mention straight up saying what all these bourgeois politicians already believed anyway. In the same way LGBTQIA+ want to practice their sexuality without the fear of being killed, beaten or prosecuted, that is the same way in the opposite direction in which fascists want to freely express their racist, sexist, homophobic views without any consequences. Trump said these things out loud, and republicans found him ‘cool’ because he didn’t beat around the bush, at least in the public, about their true beliefs.

Ultimately, Trump isn’t some anomaly. He’s just a natural unmasking of the fascist paradigm of amerikkka.

I mean, I had to optimize my playstyle in eu4 to actually use all the money I always accumulate lol, and realized mana is a much better resource. I also tried playing M&T 3.0, which is also very econ heavy, but my main problem outside of the lag is the UI being an absolute clusterfuck and not really being able to navigate it. EU4 just really isn’t designed for that type of shit, so with EU5 being centered around pops and not mana, it’s hopefully gonna be a lot more complex in a good way, with a UI you will actually be able to understand.

I’m like, the complete opposite, the only game that even comes close to EU4 is HOI4, but even then it’s basically incomparable. Btw, how’s Vicky 2 like? I’m excited for EU5 because it’s gonna have pops and an actual economy, but I personally never liked the setting of the 19th century, so should I give it a try anyway?

Unless you are playing with your friends, I feel like it’s just better to pirate it since the dlcs come with the game, instead of having to do those creamapi shenanigans (especially for me since I’m on linux).

I know Paradox is a shitty company at this point with their dlc policy and whatnot, but I sincerely hope they don’t fuck up EU5 especially considering the fact that how it’s looking in the dev diaries, it’s basically gonna be a combination of CK, Victoria and EU. Playing that and Elden Ring (when I eventually find enough money to buy the PC for it) and I don’t have to play another video game for the rest of my life.

The true irony of paradox games is actually owning EU4, but still pirating it because the DLCs are like half the fucking game.

As a non usasian, I think that at this point it’s more about who can mobilize their base more than it is fighting for some imaginary independents. Kamala had some hype at the beginning, but now it’s entirely artificial and on reddit. Trump is a known commodity, but at this point he’s washed compared to 2016, especially since not even 2 assassination attempts can raise his ratings. I guess in the end, it’s better to bet on republicans to go out and than the democrats.

I have never played any Final Fantasy games, but looking at Ubisoft, I honestly appreciate them at least putting a number on their ridiculousness. Considering AC officially only counts to 4, you honestly wouldn’t think they already made 14 of these fucking games (including shadows).

1000%. Like, where the fuck will these games even be set? Ancient China, Medieval/Colonial Spain, Medieval Africa maybe?

If the franchise wasn’t such garbage nowadays (but I realized that it honestly always was, especially when people take off the rose tinted glasses), I would seriously love something that could truly cover the place that was Russia before and during the October Revolution (image a game where you could organize soviets and general resistance to imperialist rule). But as someone else said, considering how they portrayed Marx, I don’t want them touching that shit with a 10 foot pole.
