Ok Grandpa, time to get you back to the rest home
I had no idea. Thank you for expanding my knowledge on a plant that I eat almost daily. Truly fascinating!
I also miss the little light
He looks like he’s about 12, she looks like she’s on the verge of 105. Interesting photo
Made me spew tea out of my nose, bravo!
I’ve been a who fan for almost 40 years and didn’t put 2 and 2 together until your comment… feeling elated for the revelation and a bit like a nonce at the same time
It’s about a ship using a technology for quick travel that gets damaged and takes the crew to an unimaginable fate once they realize the implications of their situation. It’s a great what if concept like most pulp sci-fi of the era.
Fantastic read. One of my top 10 for concept and execution.
You made me spew tea out of my nose. Well done!

I’m currently reading Sword and Citadel, second half of The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe.
This is one that stuck with me LONG after I finished reading it

Stand on Zanzibar - John Brunner
It’s straight out of a fairytale
I didn’t care much for Stranger in a Strange Land. Not to spoil too much but felt it had a heavy handed messiah bent to it, just not my cup of tea. I did finish reading it, as it seemed a creation of it’s time and I like to experience time capsules through books. Almost prescient of later history of the decade.
Thanks! Now I have that horrible song running through my brain. I really loved that show, but that song at the beginning of every episode made me cringe hard. What were they thinking?
