  • I also saw it as a bit odd at first, but it makes the most sense after thinking about it.

NT vs NF is a good division because intuition and thinking (NT) vs intuition and feeling (NF) are quite distant personality-wise. The former were coined “the rational(ist)s” as all 4 enjoy abstract, nerdy topics like MBTI itself. The latter… cry a lot?

NP vs NJ would’ve put INTP, INFP, ENFP, ENTP in one group which would be obvious nonsense. INTJ, INFJ, ENFJ, ENTJ in another. Uhhh, nope.

The main thing about the SP vs SJ division is that SPs use Se and SJs use Si. This makes most of the SPs (ISTP, ESTP, ESFP) seem very “JUST DO SHIT” and most of the SJs (ISTJ, ESTJ, ISFJ) seem very chill and or serious/organized.

Grouping sensors by ST vs SF would put ISTJ, ESTJ, ISTP, ESTP in one group, not quite seeing the commonality. ISFJ, ESFJ, ISFP, ESFP would go in another. Same hodgepodge dilemma.

16p’s grouping of 4 types in 4 groups seems like a shitty version of socionics’ quadras, which group types on common valued/frontstack cognitive functions. But in my opinion that’s 16p’s problem in general, disregard of the functions just to describe personality. That just seems like no fun at all to me!

3 more questions before I guess your type.

    1. What do you find so interesting in human behavior, or in other words, why are you interested in human behavior?
    2. Is truth discovered or created?
    3. Describe the feeling of anything you choose in detail.

People also tend to enjoy partners who provide their 4th or 5th slot.

You need your 4th slot function for the sake of your dominant function, unfortunately, you are kind of shitty at it. Thus, you try and get others to provide it for you, like a partner!

Two people using the same dominant function are sure to cross swords, but your 5th slot is a function that never clashes with your dominant. In fact, you quite like people who use a lot of it (like a partner!), and dislike those devoid of it.

    • INTJ+ENFP (mutual Ni-Ne 5th slot bond)
    • INFJ+ENTP (mutual Ni-Ne 5th slot bond)
    • ISTJ+ESFP (mutual Si-Se 5th slot bond)
    • ISFJ+ESTP (mutual Si-Se 5th slot bond)
    • INTP+ENFJ (mutual Ti-Fe 4th slot bond)
    • ISTP+ESFJ (mutual Ti-Fe 4th slot bond)
    • ISFP+ESTJ (mutual Fi-Te 4th slot bond)
    • INFP+ENTJ (mutual Fi-Te 4th slot bond)

Edit: Be not bamboozled by MBTI’s J and P letters; the intuitive and sensing functions are perceiving, and the thinking and feeling functions are judging. We can see that the ideal partners of each type bond over either different types of intuition or sensing in the 5th slot. These are perceiving bonds. The 4th slot bonders do such with Ti-Fe or Fi-Te, which are all judging functions. So here’s another good bullet point.

    • you most likely want a judging partner if you are a judger, and a perceiving one if you are a perceiver.

  • Ah, steak, my favorite salad! Oooh, and salad, the perfect nachos!! My steak is a salad, but if I cut it into bite-sized pieces, it becomes nachos!!!

    1. A salad is specifically a mix of more than one thing. Not a homogeneous mixture.
    2. The hell’s up with the nachos? A food with many repeating identical objects? Nachos are a salad.
    3. A sandwich is supposed to be 3 layers; [bread–>content–>bread] from top to bottom. They cite a stack of 3 slices of toast as a sandwich, but a cake is defined as a food with >2 grain layers, a criterion in which 3 slices of toast fits.

Seriously, a good theory idea, but with unforgivable flaws.
