At the end of the day, that’s the main takeaway here. It’s not so much the men themselves, but the people they intend to appoint to positions of authority. Biden will appoint experts and professionals to run the country for him. Trump will appoint sycophants and yes-men to do whatever he wants to do, even if it flies in the face of reason or standard procedure, and unlike last time he won’t allow anyone who isn’t 100% loyal to him to work in his administration.

The thing is, nobody ever said billionaires were smart. A lot of people conflate being wealthy with being intelligent, and that’s simply not the case.

I don’t dislike the nu-trilogy because it makes an effort to include women and minorities in leading roles. I have issues with YouTube playback specifically on my work laptop. At home it’s fine. It just started one day where videos sometimes fail to auto play and requires multiple refreshes. Even once they get going they often stall out and the progress bar goes all the way back to the beginning so I’ve gotten in the habit of taking notes of the time before I hit refresh and hope it comes back before I completely lose all interest.

The problem with inflation is that the cat can never go back in the bag. Like, I feel like if you send your “training” email to people in the form of a well-known phishing scam email, there’s no need to ensure that they follow up with the training, because either they are tricked by the subject line and then directed to complete the email safety awareness training (presumably you would know who clicked on it to make sure they actually do complete it), or they’re intelligent enough to not click on it in the first place and thus already computer-literate enough to not get scammed by obvious bullshittery.

On the plus side, daily pay might actually kill off the payday advance industry, a far more predatory business practice that causes people to get stuck in poverty in a downward spiral for pretty much forever.
