Which is exactly my point. Many Americans don’t feel like the economy is better in their own lives. But, overall, from a macroeconomic perspective, the economy is doing great.

If you look at the average salary, it has kept up or exceeded inflation, but it has taken some time to catch up. But again, it’s the sentiment. If people feel pooper, they are poorer, even if they are not actually poorer.
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Maybe they need it, but that may not be happening. Over the past decade, Europe has been moving decisively to the right, just like the US is doing, which means less internal European cooperation and a further move toward sovereign nation states. The EU will maybe be able to maintain the overall trade cooperation among countries, but there’s very little chance of further European integration in other policy areas as it stands. Even the Schengen open-border cooperation is hanging by a thread.
Definitely not. I hope the younger generations learn their lesson and learn to to actually show up to vote if they get the chance to vote again. I’m not holding my breath.
The economy is actually great. Most people just don’t have the brains to understand why when they feel like it isn’t. Sentiment is king.
Apparently, the majority of Americans believe they won back their country yesterday. Looks like Trump is going to win the popular vote. That’s where we are.
So, I always thought it was just a mean bully thing to say, but, as a group, Americans really are dumber than a bag of rocks.
That’s all well and good, but there’s just something fundamentally wrong with this country. I love Jon Stewart, but I’m not sure the US can actually be fixed. If you’re not a white evangelical man right now, you’re in for four years of hurt and many of Americans did it to themselves. And the unfortunate truth is that four years of hurt won’t fix anything. Many will do it again next time.
I’m fortunate enough to also have EU citizenship. Will be booking tickets for me and the fam shortly. America is not the place for us.
I guess it’s confirmed. Americans really are dumber than a bag of rocks.
Well, now that it looks like Trump is actually going to pull it off, we’re all in for a world of fun over the next four years. We might actually discover just how monstrous things will get.
It’s honestly unreal that Trump is even in the race, let alone in a position to pull off a possible win. After everything that has happened. I try to keep a positive spirit in general, but it’s not easy to be optimistic on behalf of the US right now.
This is from New Mexico? New Mexico is solid blue. If this shows a general trend, great. But NM won’t really affect the outcome much.
What the heck is wrong with people…jeez.
I don’t think Trump has any chance at winning the popular vote. The EC will be close, but I think Harris has a great chance at winning PA, MI, and WI, which would bring her to 270 without any other swing state. Very likely scenario in my mind.
Definitely. Especially when you also know that the betting markets had Hillary Clinton at 82 percent odds of winning the day before the election and 90 percent odds of UK voters rejecting Brexit. That’s obviously not what happened.
He’s talking to evangelicals who react when you use the word “demonic” about anything. They hold great political sway, and they have proven that they will go against their own moral interests to nurture their political interests.
Case in point, watch them get in line to vote for Trump today, despite him being the antithesis of evangelical behavior and values.
Just read the article. The fact are right there backed by science and major health orgs.
Yes, which is why I do think the foundational trade framework will remain and possibly strengthen. That’s what originally created the EU and ended many of the conflicts.
What I don’t see happening much going forward is countries giving up sovereignty on things like immigration and judicial issues or social and cultural issues. I also think stuff like a banking union and further economic integration are hanging by a thin, thin thread. There are simply too much disagreement and too many differences in how the economies work. It’s not like states within the US at all.
