The suggestion from a user in the linked post to put #nobot in the user profile is good though. It gives a way out for some folks. I personally don’t mind, but if someone does, put this in your description. It could become a standard on lemmy/kbin.

I use usenet, but I find that I have a lot of issues finding content in other language than English. Also, finding rarer content is harder too. So I also use torrents to complete what I can’t find over usenet. To this day I would like to get content in French, but it’s hard.
This means that I still need a torrenting setup with VPN.
Yep, our rooselters go “cocorico”, it’s called a “chant”. This is a good onomatopoeia as roosters sounds a bit like that.
Our frogs “coasse”. As an onomatopoeia, we sometimes say something like “wobett”, which sounds like someone who never heard a frog would say they sound, mainly used with or by kids.
Nothing like a bark.
@lunar2m7 I was in the same boat recently. I searched for a service that I controlled. I wanted it to be centralized where I could read it on my phone or on any computer and the read articles would sync.
The best solution I found is Nextcoud News. There’s an android app and it seems to be able to sync with some desktop clients (didn’t try yet).
Im happy with it now.
You can do this in connect and wefwef, those are the two I use most. I’m more interrested in a good app for kbin. The Pwa app isn’t bad, but it’s missing some functionality and it isn’t a native app.
