That was the main reason why I switched to lemmy.world; never looked back. Plus, Ruud (the admin of this instance, runs also a Mastodon instance) and actually upgrades the server so it can handle all new traffic. Lemmy.ml is often down because it can’t take the heavy load.
I guess it has something to do with how active the community is. I had the same issue, and was trying to troubleshoot with Ruud why this happens. Today in the morning, my community started being more active and started to appear on other instances.
Make some posts in the community (and comments), invite users and after 24h, it should be visible to other instances as well. Could be a bug (because Lemmy is riddled with bugs).
How many social network do they need to have?
As more and more subreddits close, no doubt that’s going to happen. 😆
Every time I hear ding, it warms my heart. 😁
I’s suggest them to disable inbox and chat in their app. They should make an additional app like Facebook has, we can call it Reddit Messenger.
I didn’t delete my account, but my local community and I have switched to Discord and Lemmy. I think I’m now spending more time on these two services than on Reddit.
I managed to fix the problem; I kept entering wrong password. 🤦♂️ Also, what I find weird–when I go to Lemmy.ml and search for the communities, my community is on the list, but when I opet it, it has one post that was deleted, and doesn’t have any new posts. It’s like the two Lemmy instances aren’t synced at all.
Lemmy is riddled with bugs that are making it hard to use.
Did you assign e-mail address to your account? Are you using it for login or the username?
Anyone else having issues with login on mobile devices? I can’t login at all, but I can normally enter on desktop. Tried in Brave and in Chrome, it doesn’t work–after pressing button it keeps loading forever.
EDIT: turns out I kept entering the wrong password entire time. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Well, we won’t miss anything if we move everything here. 🤷♂️
The problem with (so called) Reddit protest is their decision won’t change. All subreddits should protest UNTIL demands are met. Locking the subreddits on 48h won’t do them any harm, but locking for an extended period of time might.
This is driving me nuts! I press upvote, it removes my upvote and then I have to click it again.
