So I just watched a 4 part video series which I think is 2-3 hours long total? Didn’t pay attention to lenght because it sucked me in and I was listening to it while doing some work. The level of misinformation, bending narrative and lies is just insane. I bet netflix just wanted to have their own “ancient aliens” style “documentary” because money obviously but the fact they present those lies and dare I say propaganda on their service as truth in form of a documentary is disturbing. I have no clue how did they even manage to get keanu on this shit because I’d assume he has people around him that would inform him about things given the reputation he has. I’m on a phone so I will send the comment first and edit in the debunking I watched soon after.

  • DRG sadly doesn’t have persistence (spelling?) and it leads to situations where if you lose connection you don’t continue (session’s over to you, if you manage to join back then good but you’re almost guaranteed to have the spot taken away by then) the game and if the host loses connection then every other member doesn’t continue the game. I think you don’t get any rewards either in those cases? Not sure how big is their studio but they could have certainly handled some things better with the game that’s been out for a while.

  • Except the rare times where the host will kick you for no reason and no warning after you commited a good chunk of your time to the session. When you’re kicked the game counts that as a lost game for you and you don’t even get to block the host or anything to avoid joining their sessions in the future when the host gets the option to prevent you from joining their sessions. I wish the game had a smarter handling for problematic players and wasn’t so biased towards hosts. Happened to me only a few times but it’s still annoying to experience that.

  • That was my point, people pay no attention to where post was posted and just blindly downvote as I mentioned. The title clearly says that it’s a minecraft retroscpect as well. It just pains me how the post was almost killed by multiple initial downvotes because I didn’t summarize the entire video for them in the title. People constantly point out how people have too short of an attention span to actually read an article and just read the titles instead and the same happened to video just now. I’m not going to summarize the video in short digestible format and kill all the depth it had to it to cater to needs of people that don’t care about the topic in the first place. This is why I said that it sucks to post to niche communities. And I’m not disappointed because “how dare people downvote me!” but because I’ve noticed how posts to niche communities that aren’t catered to people outside the communities (aka mainstream) often get downvoted because they make no sense to the outside viewer. I’m sad because it kills those niche posts which lemmy desperately needs. This happens to any form of content, videos, articles, memes, etc. I don’t believe that the video format here is the problem here like the others point out because of what I just described. I’m trying to look at the bigger picture but to people that just quickly pass through the post miss what I’m trying to point out and to them it seems shallow “oh no, downvotes!” which also doesn’t help. I feel like the people straight up ignored any points rised in my comments simply because I pointed out the problematic downvotes which is a reflex that comes from other posts where trolls rightfully got the downvotes they’re complaining about. I believe lemmy has a problem and I don’t want to ignore it but I have no power to change anything anyway and it makes it all even more disappointing despite lemmy being a great thing for me and many other people.
