if it were easy you would have no margins because everyone would be doing it.
That sentence has kept me out of a lot of investment scams and pyramid schemes.

It was paywalled for me.
Here’s an archive. https://archive.is/fljS3

I try not to disclose my financial status with family. They know I’m doing ok, and that’s all they need to know.
I don’t need anybody coming to me for a loan, or with a “business opportunity”, lol.

What’s the alternative? Why shouldn’t I trust my money with someone who has a better track record than me?
And what makes you think Buffett isn’t risking his own money? Out of Berkshire’s 1.07T market cap, 257B is shares owned by Buffet himself.

Those are pretty good. I like GLM’s response. Thanks for posting those.
When I was a kid, I remember hearing that punchline on Night Court, but never knew what the rest of the joke was.

Just looking for a new way to evaluate models. I expected larger models to come up with better answers, but that wasn’t really the case.
I also wanted to see if uncensored or abliterated models would “get” the joke better, but they didn’t, really.
Admittedly, this is a pretty straightforward joke. If you choose one that’s more complex, models start failing to understand the context.

Would you rather see him scraping up coins for bus fare?

Yes. Lemmy needs an “ignore replies” option, both for posts and comments.

I never understood “Can you explain this gap in your resume?”
Well, … I didn’t have to work. So I didn’t.

Nice! Enjoy the remote work!

Because it’s easier. AMD (ATI, actually) fought Nvidia and even got the best of them at times, but it almost bankrupted them. Since then they’ve learned it’s easier to stay in second place and watch the cash roll in.

It kind of hurts when you put it that way. $600 for an extra 16Gb.
That’s pretty funny. Dark, but funny.
It’s not my cup of tea because I’m trying to avoid politics right now, but I’d definitely recommend it.

I figured they’d make these eventually. Even though AMD said they already tested dual cache and it wasn’t really worth the extra cost, people are going to keep asking for it, so you might as well give them what they want.
The key is to charge enough to make a profit, and keep production numbers low enough that it doesn’t fall below MSRP.
Anyway, I’m guessing it won’t be a huge performance boost, but it will prevent the performance drop from core parking issues. If people want to pay a premium for that, by all means…
For me, it’s Rockstar. I think I have 1 Origin game, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (2010 I think), whichever one didn’t support force feedback wheels. I haven’t bought an EA game since.
I’ll admit I can’t nap as much as a cat. Maybe a dog.
Either way, there’s no way I can sleep for 8 straight hours at night and stay up for 16 hours during the day. That’s just nuts.

Also, Dr J. vs Larry Bird and Skate or Die. There are a ton of games if you count games they published(M.U.L.E., etc) but I think publishing is what led to their evil empire.

I think I just got bored with it. Plus I moved to a new place and it was too much trouble to mount it on the wall/ceiling.
If your friend wants to upload data to a Peertube instance, sooner or later, your friend needs to donate money to support the hosting costs. It’s not much really, just talk to the instance owner and work out a deal.
But if you want to post stuff on PT, but not donate, you’re basically asking for charity. Instance owners make no ad revenue, they’re paying for everything out of pocket.
Whatever instance he chooses, he needs to keep a local backup, because Peertube instances do occasionally disappear.
