  • Gonna have to soft disagree with your hard disagree. “A small warning on the menu”? Like it’s freedom to let kids take LSD as long as ‘not for minors’ is printed on the tab?

Its a public health health concern.

Now, undercooked burger and you get food poisoning? Well, hopefully you learned your lesson.

Raw milk hospitalizes infants? Sorry, “we listed the risk on our website” doesn’t cut it.

“Maybe they were making raw milk cheese as a hobby?” Sure, you should have to sign paperwork that plainly and boldly outlines the risk of misuse.

Before you say it’s a slippery slope and youd need to sign a waiver to buy bleach, the Secretary of Health is pushing this dangerous product on people, whereas no one in the government is recommending injecting bleach to cure viru— uh, nevermind, thats a bad example.

  • TTRPGs are fun and don’t have to be a lot of work. But trying is the barrier to entry.

If someone wants to DM and says “I’m worried I’m not smart enough or creative enough” I would also be supportive. Follow a prewritten adventure, or rip off media you like, or don’t be afraid to do something dumb. Don’t be afraid to fail.

But if someone wants to DM and says “Eh, I can’t be fucked to read the rules, and I think AI can write a better plot than me, so I’ll just do that” I would say, find a new hobby. What are you trying to do?

To be clear: human made rules tools: great! Ripping off human made stories you’ve experienced: great! Having a computer guess for you because you can’t be bothered to try: bad.

Lastly, if you can’t be arsed but want to play, there are plenty of TTRPG systems that don’t have a DM or share the duty collectively
