There’s a long answer and basically it’s my thesis that as Jim Crow was obviously untenable long-term, the powers that be set about transposing the American apartheid model onto the economic sphere so that way it becomes diffuse and mystified; there’s no clear way to dismantle the system or to petition it for redress and so on (well, I can think of one way…)

Basically the middle class in America is a pseudo-caste that exists because of the economic conditions that caused it to flourish by design.

All of these understandings that I’ve arrived at have been hard won, so I’m glad if I can make that process easier for other people. It’s also very in character for me to want something to exist in the world so when I can’t find it, I just go and make it myself. Typing this stuff out helps me to process it and to process it and make it stick in my mind, so it helps me too - without any hesitation I can assure you that I’m definitely still a work in progress.

Rathbone goes live on Twitch, I’d assume he’d be on the chopping block there too. TankieTanuki is rightly gonna hate me for saying this but PeerTube instances have capacity for doing lives. I figure they are ridiculously resource intensive though. Other streamers like Socialism For All that stream on Twitch are going to be facing this same situation.

Here’s one of those ideas that would never happen but it would be an absolute coup if it did: TankieTube reaches an agreement with Hasan and agrees to fund all the costs associated with TankieTube. He gets to keep his donos. Other creators like Rathbone and Socialism For All come on board because of what TankieTube can offer them (Rathbone) or because they consider TankieTube the least-worst option and they hold their nose and realise that ideological purity matters less when it’s a choice between supporting Jeff Bezos or not (Socialism For All).

We weren’t using vc in game on this one but some people did report that certain users weren’t appearing in the chat, so I think that’s why things went a bit screwy. I think things got a bit better when one person left the game and returned but unfortunately it’s a new game and it’s a bit buggy.

Why am I not surprised at all to hear that a producer or a director would go and screw it all up like that?

Side note, I always thought it was funny that they had the Dothraki repeating “armor” with two tapped /r/ sounds after hearing someone with an accent that doesn’t pronounce /r/ there say it. They apparently had understanding of English writing despite not speaking it.
