I ran into a similar issue. I think just posting the gif file doesn’t work unless the user clicks through to where the gif is hosted. It seems to work if you post to redgifs and then link it to lemmynsfw. I think lemmynsfw has the ability to play stuff from redgifs, but I don’t think lemmy.world does. I could be wrong about this, but I definitely had better luck uploading gifs to redgifs before sharing them on lemmynsfw.

Edit: For shits and giggles I posted my favorite gif from your account on redgifs to your community to see if it would work and it seems like it’s working correctly for me. Let me know if you want me to delete it.
