Cool, I’ll add it to the pile :-)

It’s not wherewithal, it’s not having to get caught up in a mini-argument every single time you just want to get on with life … at least that’s the case for me.
I’ve never been asked my pronouns, but have had my gender questioned a lot.
That’s interesting, and kinda in line with how it felt for me being in Asia … but that was going off of gut feelings, and compared to sex work in the UK

Self preservation. If people told the truth while he was alive he could have persecuted them in some way … he was powerful and rich.
If the me too movement taught us anything, it’s that justice is fleeting, and the machinery of persecution will just continue through other means.
Is this a good manga? Does it have a coherent plot?

Hi, I’m late to the party, but wanted to chip in -
When I was young I was attracted to older women, because of one amazing mentor I had had (for reference, I’m AFAB). When I was out on my own, I met someone who I thought was perfect for me.
She was 17 years older than me, and early-on I was very happy. But she had seen me coming, and over 10 years used me financially, physically, and psychologically.
I just say this to be clear - you know what you want, but you need to be careful. With more life experience, abusive people can easily appear to be what you’re after, while patiently working towards other goals which go against your wellbeing. Usually over the course of years.
I hope you find someone who is right for you, and good for you <3

My Mum passed in April. TBH it was mostly relief that I felt, not the expected happiness, and then after the initial shock lots of emotions of all sorts poured out of me that I hadn’t expected.
I think I’ve processed it now, but these things don’t always go how you expect them to.

So he’s not a Dapper Dan man?

I find that sort of social status engineering (for want of a better phrase) cringe-inducing at best.
I’m amazed that it works, that some people are that shallow. It must be another indicator of how stupid humans are as a whole.
We’re agreed that getting on late is a much nicer experience, lol

lol, I guess I’ve been lucky not to fly on an American airline then

Mostly ok, isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement, lol

I’ve always been mystified as to why early boarding was an advantage, too … I’m about to be sat for a whole lot of time, I’d rather be stood up and moving around beforehand!

Better to carry a packet with a couple of nitrile gloves … you’re not going to be able to work properly in dishwashing gloves :-/
I don’t know what the opposite of survivorship bias is, but it sounds like your work on claims gave you that. If humans were easy to kill there wouldn’t be so many of us!

Sorry, should have clarified - I’m European so less of an issue.
But also, if you’re considering it, it’s not hard to avoid brake dust going into the air for the most part. One guy I met just rained the brake cleaner over everything before starting, for instance.
That being said I’ve had an awful lot of brake fluid and cleaner (plus engine and gearbox oil, coolant, etc etc) on my hands over the years, so they’re probably going to fall off any time now … taking care of ones skin is important too :-)
Yup, both giving and receiving … but usually I’m the one giving because I make a shitty sub

Yeah. Even though asbestos has been illegal for ages there’s still loads of black soot … plus the hazards to skin of brake cleaner and brake fluid :-/
TBH the only time I do brake work now is when there’s something special needed, like a rebuild of something that needs to be done with care and attention
It took ages to coax my wife into biting me, and this is what she does, too.
Then I came back from my GF happy as a clam and covered in bruises.
Did that change her perspective? No, of course not. But it is quite adorable :-)

Good on you for being willing to give it a go :-)
As someone who can rebuild pretty much any part of an internal combustion car, there’s no shame in being careful with safety items. Also, brake work is nasty, dirty, and often swear-inducing … so you’re not missing out, lol
Yup, as an immigrant to Spain I’ve found that people who describe themselves as expats are either unpleasant to be around, or don’t particularly want to integrate
