Okay. Everyone is different. If they can point, click and type they can open a terminal and type something simple.

I have to say your car analogy is more difficult.

It’s just a matter of explaining a different process than what they are familiar with to install something. It’s not hard at all after you show/explain. Just different and in my opinion easier than an exe.

If you can open an app you can open the terminal. It’s not a daunting task.

It’s less steps than an exe and automated. Opening the terminal is one click. It’s not like you need to know how to do anything else in there.

It is extremely easy. Open terminal, one command. Done. Your quote ended with “and…” As if there was a lot to type.

“Oh that’s easy. Just open the terminal and type pacman -S firefox” sounds better.

It actually way easier on Linux. Arch just type: pacman -S programName Or yay -S programName

Most distros have a software “store” and it’s just as simple as installing an app on your phone.

I got a server for like $12 a year with 5tb monthly bandwidth. I have 3 servers total with them and haven’t had a problem for the 3 years I’ve been using them.

JMP is great! I ported over my number that I’ve had the longest to them probably 2 years ago when it was still beta. It’s so convenient having sms on multiple devices and my computer. I have all calls from jmp forwarded to my phone with service tho. And I just switched that from AT&T prepaid to US mobile.

Edit: I also like popping in to read their group chat. Lots of nerd talk in there. Also, I’m pretty sure if you ask their support you can still get a free XMPP server with JMP service via Snikket.

I happened to have a spare number that I wasn’t using with JMP.chat. So I ported it over to US Mobile.

They offered a 30 day trial if you port a number over. They probably still offer the trial. I still have a week left and I liked the service so much I already ported my real number over. The trial was completely free.

I ended up having to order their sim starter kit because for some reason my Pixel 4a 5g wasn’t compatible with their eSim on their Warp 5g(Verizon), which I wanted to try. When I portrs my real number over I did it on their GSM(tmobo) network with eSim and it worked fine. You can get the sim starter kit for free with some promo code they have listed on their site somewhere.

Just switched to US Mobile after doing the 30 day trial.

My battery life is amazing with it and I’ve never had any overheating issues.

Edit: my local credit union app works fine. You can even relock the bootloader after you install graphene.
