AI from big (US) corps are a biased scam by definition, never ever use an AI app inbuild in your OS, it will spy you and wasting a hugh amount of RAM and Bandwith. If you need an AI for some task, use a specific one for a function you need, a lot of these you’ll find for free, withot the need of an account, FOSS and made by little startups and devs, which don’t have the need to spy on you. You cand find a ton of these eg. in HuggingFace, ready to use.

There are several historic persons which lived more than 80 Years. The people then was genetically identic to the people today and with the same life expentancy, same as today, this depends naturally on their life style. The average lifespan of the people in WWI also was less than 30 Years.

It’s a big difference when a company use AI as tool for the employees to improve the quality and productivity, or use the AI to substitute with an AI experimented employees to save costs. It’s not the same a student which use eg. the Sketchapediaº to understand better a complex theme in the research for his essay or simply use a Chatbot to write the essay for him. A designer or artist using an AI in graphical editors for routine tasks or adding some effects to his work, o simply writing a small promt in an AI to create yhe design or artwork. Absolute not needed a Smart Home, Fridge or Toaster with AI to spy on us, to create memes or worse, political influencers using Deep Fakes Research centers, pharmacompanies, medical centers, had made big advances in new medications, treatments in diseases before not curable, new materials, better designs, improved research in physics, astronomy, with results impssibles without AI, researches in days which in traditional manner would have need years.

But this, the AI as tool in the hand of experimented employees and scientists. This is the problem, not really the AI as such, but greedy companies abusing and biasing it, to control, manipulate and scam the users

  • I understand your point of view, but I can only speak mine. The advance of the far right in Europe and the rest of the world is more than worrying and must be fought, not facilitated. A company must also look at its image in the eyes of the public and show ethics and respect for the customer and user.

Mullvad is undoubtedly a technically good browser with excellent privacy-protecting features, but precisely for this reason it cannot be tolerated that its CEO supports a political party that promotes the exact opposite of what Mullvad claims to defend, because this takes away confidence in the future developments of this browser and what path it will take. The influence of someone who owns 50% of the company is surely not small and the influence and political orientation he has matters, even if it seems a good product.

Eg. Starlink, for sure very usefull to permit the connection in a lot of countries without infrastructure, in catastrophes, in trains, flights, etc. but I see also a worldwide network controlled by one person, Musk. Right populism always use the Honeypot methode for it’s advance.

  • No, the Mullvad company isn’t sponsoring a nazi party, but the company is owned by 50% of the one who did it, $500k, money gained with this company. This rest for me also at least 50% of trust in this company. Its not the same, if a company with 100 employees has an employee nazi, as when the owner is one. Because this mean, every money which pay the user for an service, 50% serve to support a nazi party. Stop fooling around with “he used his private money”, it’s money he earned with this company, by donations, VPN and services, paid by the users. Brendan Eich was fired by Mozilla for less.

  • There are more than 7.000 AI apps out there, most used are all from big corps (Gargle, M$, Zuckerbot, etc), meanwhile there are pretty good and private indie alternatives which are struggeling to survive. That is the real problem, not the AI as tool as such, but those which biased these for own greedy advantages, to profile and manipulate the user. Adding users which use it without criterio and knowledge to substitute with it own research and brain, instead of an tool which can help with research and work, using it for what it is.
