I’m pretty sure some companies are also using it to encourage people to quit before layoffs and needing to pay out severance. Happened to me earlier this year. In December they announced we’d go from optionally fully remote, to mandatory 3-days in office in February. Then at the end of march they laid off a bunch of people.
So watch the timing at Dell, I wonder if we’ll see some layoffs there in a couple months.
yeah, lots. would have been a good fit in Orlando for example.
surprised he didn’t explore free agency at all.
They said they got Giddey to replace Alonzo’s playmaking. I don’t think they’re counting on Lonzo to be the player he was before even if he does make it back.
absolutely insane. the only explanation is that Chicago is extremely high on giddey for some reason.
Chicago better get some picks with this or it’s a real WTF move. Supposedly they could have had a top ten pick at the deadline.
it certainly isn’t controversial to say evolution is the only explanation for the origin of behaviour. What else could it be?
there’s a lot to unpack here. firstly, there is more to human behavior than genetics/evolution, hence nature vs nurture. in other words our human experience determines our behavior in addition to genetics.
Secondly, that’s not the only claim or assumption of Evolutionary Psychology. There is lots of other stuff besides that statement that is controversial at best.

You said:
We shut down reactors of which no one knows how functional they are because no one checked that because they were scheduled to be shut down anyways.
If they weren’t scheduled to be shut down in the first place people would have known they worked.
I think it was the biggest coach contract to begin with, so must be.
I don’t know about Europe as a whole but in Germany we did not shut down functional reactors. We shut down reactors of which no one knows how functional they are because no one checked that because they were scheduled to be shut down anyways.
That’s functionally the same thing. And it does matter to discuss. Even if you believe the ship has sailed in Germany, it hasn’t elsewhere, and Germany’s experience can be useful to learn from.
That’s not a challenge to the premise of evopsych. If anything it sort of supports it.
It was in response to your claim that Evolutionary Psychology is the “the only accepted explanation for the origin of animal behaviour.” If you want to make that claim you need to support it with some kind of reference.
There is that for sure, but “smart people believing stupid things” occurs outside the political/economic realms as well.
is the only accepted explanation for the origin of animal behaviour.
This is not true. Ethology is the general study of animal behavior. Evolutionary Psychology is specific to human behavior and is not the only approach to studying it either. Sociobiology an example of a less criticized field studying human behavior based on evolution.

watch us be repeating the same excuse in another 50 years. yes, nuclear takes a long time to build but that doesn’t mean we should just not do it.
also at the bare minimum we should not be shutting down functional reactors which is happening in europe.
i wonder how they compare to hofner shark fin pickups. i’m a huge fan of Jamie Hince and he uses those exclusively, but they haven’t been made for decades.

this is why we still need nuclear, to replace the fossil fuel baseline.
well there sure aren’t any left wing republicans.
what about that good ole “free” speech elon?
