41·7 days agoThe “Pepe the Frog” meme and Swastikas were the most common extremist or hateful symbols on Steam, representing almost 55% and 9% of all extremist symbols detected, respectively.
Some symbols, like the sonnenrad and Totenkopf, are explicitly extremist, while others, like Pepe, are often used by extremists, but their use alone does not signal extremist ideologies.
So Pepe is a “extremist or hateful symbol”, but its “use alone does not signal extremist ideologies”. I’m confused.

As the Spanish Interior Minister Grande-Marlaska explained, there are clear indications of this.
Has there been discussions in feddit.nl to de-federate with instances like lemmygrad and hexbear?
I would support de-federation.

Yeah, I tried multiple times and it was different maps.
It’s because OP made two separate posts and therefore uploaded the image twice so lemmy doesn’t recognize it as cross-post (check the image URLs, they are different). If OP properly cross-posted it, the URL would be the same and you wouldn’t see it twice in your feed.
The photo is from a black-and-white US government report on the case (archive.org copy), see Sec2:38. So I assume the original photograph was actually in color.
