I used to have the same dream, and went so far to move to another country.
While I don’t regret moving now I’m just stuck in another place. The dream was about freedom, adventure, wanderlust. Not surviving day-to-day but in another country. But I have to admit the first couple of years were awesome, new places, new people, new culture, new food. The discovery phase is amazing and worth the experience. Establishing a long-term life in a new place is tricky.

If I have to give a single piece of advice: a good entry point into a new society is essential. It’s like being born - your family, neighborhood, school etc, predetermine your future prospects in life. It’s the same with immigration, except it’s your visa status, first job and the initial social circle you fall into.

It’s a factor. I’m aware my political opinions are in the minority and unlikely to be implemented. Being able to demonstrate that I tried to do something gives legitimacy to my criticism.
