I like to play the game where we switch out “trans” with another group like “black” or “Jewish” and then see how it sounds … oops - sounds like they’re coming for every group that isn’t white, neurotypical, & CIS. When they’re done with the physical discrimination they’ll come for the Muslim and Jewish people and the non-Protestants, and then after they round up all the “dissidents” it will only be a certain kind of religious denomination allowed. It’s similar to the start of Nazi Germany and any other fascist regime.

Sorry for the ambiguity. What I mean to say is that the language this general is using very clearly indicates that the US has plans in place that have been decided on prior to any serious engagement. I think if you couple the controlling behavior with the fact that he is at least 10 years older than her and more powerful in terms of career and influence you can begin to put together a picture of why his attitude is problematic.

The only thing I see social doing well is amplifying messages via cheerleaders and providing a channel for servicing the external client.

Yeah, if you look at the backend re: things like Apple blocking tracking data it’s clear marketing can very much exist without a ton of metrics. You just have to be creative with the advertising. It also helps to be solid on the content and placement, ie where people are receptive to messaging.

Oh, lol, yeah. I have been in marketing communications for almost 20 years across tech, finance, and other industries and there is a lot of jargon that’s worthless. I do agree with the author that much of marketing can be shooting in the dark and knowing when to actually do something worthwhile with ad dollars can be hard. Digital marketing requires specialty knowledge most marketers dont have.
