Yeah, I feel you. I’ve taken a similar approach with about 1.5h per day, but having a variety of activities to do each day. I usually do flashcards, writing a (quite) short text (see my post history) and if I still feel like it, watch some TV-shows, play games or read something. This way I can keep it relatively fresh and engaging.

Btw, what languages are you guys learning? (Is “guys” a gender-neutral pronoun yet? If not, what would you recommend?)

Not sure if this is related or not but when I was unable to open media files (that were stored on my SMB server) in VLC (also got permission denied) I solved it by installing “kio-fuse”.

I’d simply ask:
“Gibt es hier weitere geflüchtete Frauen?”
The use of “weitere” implies that you yourself are a woman.
“Flüchtling” an sich enthält keine Information über das Geschlecht der Person.

Wenn das Geschlecht klar sein soll, kannst du z.B. “eine Geflüchtete” bzw. “ein Geflüchteter” sagen.

Ich bin ein Reddit-Flüchtling. Gibt es ein weibliches hier auch Frauen? Ich bin eine Frau. Ich bin seit mehr als drei Woche Wochen heir hier sein. Ich finde das Fediversum mehr freundlich freundlicher. Für mich sind die Leute das Beste. (Was ist hier besser? Menschen oder Leute?)

“Leute” passt hier besser. “Menschen” würde man z.B. verwenden, wenn man von Menschen und Tieren spricht.

Am Rande: Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob du “OP” richtig verstehst. Es wird meistens als Abkürzung für “Original-Poster” verwendet.

I’m not at that high of a level yet (maybe N3) but I personally use a dictionary (Takoboto, on Android) that can easily add words to an anki deck (granted they don’t have audio but that’s fine for me (and I already did a 6K premade deck with audio)).

I find new words through watching shows, listening to music or reading.

I also go to local meetups where I meet with other Japanese learners and I talk to a Japanese person weekly (in exchange for practicing English with them).

For grammar I watched most of Cure Dolly’s Organic Japanese playlist.

For me this is a great combination and I think I’m progressing well.

I’m also pretty much the sole poster over at lemmy.world’s WriteStreakJapanese. Maybe consider writing something from time to time. I think it can greatly aid you in finding your weak-spots.

I think the diversification of your study methods and making habits out of things that would otherwise be too boring to do really help me stay motivated.
