My 13 year old laptop running Debian is doing fine. It got a new battery a year or two ago and is ready for another decade.

eCall, alarm systems, elevators and many types of sensors.
2G should die though. You can use the frequencies for 4G/5G to get better reception.
And if the thing depending on 2G has the space for it (like a car or an elevator) then the thing can be upgraded with hardware that supports 4G/5G.
…Unless the manufacturer is a dick and wants you to buy a whole new thing. I suspect that this will happen a lot.
Floaters. They’re boring and won’t go to the moon, but during a market crash, you’ll be able to sell these with a profit and buy index funds which are on sale.
The information does not constitute financial advice and should not…blah blah.
This IS advice, but I’m stranger on the web though. I might be stupid.
Same here in Norway. Many say “wallah, jeg lover”
So basically “wallah, I promise”
Same. And if I were to say something like this I would say “gråter ikke” instead of “ikke gråter”

I would definitely prefer hardware switches for things like camera, microphone or radio.
…BUT if I had to choose between a software switch or no switch I would choose to have a switch. Being able to do things with my phone without using the screen can come in handy.
I can double press the on/off button on my current phone to launch apps or turn on/off the flashlight. I use the latter and wish it could do more.
A switch for sharing my location with my wife would be nice. I would like a switch for recording sound in case my boss tries anything illegal. Being able to trigger Ripple with something physical would make it way more practical. Locking Molly could also be nice.
I assume that different people would find different uses for a configurable software switch.
The pair of OD6 goggles that can be bought together with the laser pointer would make reflections safer, but a direct hit in the eyes would still not be safe.
Wavelength isn’t very important but something around 445-555nm is easily absorbed, accessible and pretty. Strength is way more important. Something well made, focused and above 2000mW like this should never be pointed at a camera.
It could also easily and INSTANTLY damage eyes PERMANENTLY, even the reflections. It should be treated with the same respect as a firearm.

Norway. Especially because of the recent election.
I guess Scandinavia in general should be fine but I can’t really speak on behalf of residents from other countries.

Adversarial Fashion is closed until next year but there’s probably someone making something similar.

Det er så jævlig rart å se folk fra Norge på Lemmy.
Especially since there’s like 34 people living in Norway and only one of us has heard of Lemmy. So I guess one of us is faking it and is actually just Swedish.

In Oslo in Norway there’s these really big and heavy cast iron flower pots. Wish more places used something like this. Something that’s also pretty or serves some other purpose.

My guess is that it’s someone feeling sympathy for the people of Russia. Which I kinda get. There are a lot of people there that oppose the invasion. The rest aren’t necessarily bad people either. They’ve just been fed lots of propaganda and lies.
Fucking nerd.
…me too though 😔
Most people who aren’t interested in tech have to be taught this as they have no idea what e-mail actually is.
I worked in a company where we had to write addresses like that 10-30 times a day.
Someone once used fucking gmail and all hell broke loose.
