Mostly it’s money for the consumer. I have a Prius so it might be a little different. But when the hybrid battery goes out costs something like $7,000 to have it replaced. A mechanic in town will repair it for $1000.

Now my car isn’t worth $7000 so if I had to replace the battery then I would just get a new car and this one might end up in the scrap heap. In getting it repaired I have gotten something like 6 more years out of it, at least, and that’s a pretty significant environmental savings.

And that’s essentially what the article is saying.

I’m going to answer my own question about what we enjoyed about Secrets.

With Secrets, I love the variety of rooms. The first time we went we cheaper out and got a basic room. I do not recommend that. The basic rooms are bottom of the barrel roadside motel rooms. They aren’t comfortable or interesting. The upgrade is definitely worth the money.

Both times we have gone the playrooms have been very active and a lot of fun. My wife LOVED the dungeon the first time we went. The second time it was managed differently and was still fun, but lost some of its magic.

It does seem like it is always under construction to some degree. The upside to that is there seem to be improvements or changes when we go.

Our next year looks pretty full already, but I’m hoping we can make it back soon.
