I’ve never had a device I wasn’t able to root, though more recently I haven’t found the need to root. Latest phone being a Pixel 7 Pro running GrapheneOS. Check XDA forums for rooting info on phones old and new.

I use Niagara Launcher mostly for the minimalist look. But also because Nova was bought by an analytics company a bit ago.
It was bought by an analytics company.
Staying on Lemmy, but will probably continue to use reddit for references (won’t be posting any content) until Lemmy catches up on content.
Pixel 7 Pro w/GrapheneOS. Being able to control what my phone is sending or not sending + the battery life gain from everything not phoning home is amazing.
Can confirm this works great. Fixes so much wasted space for desktop users.
Absolutely a class deal with my family. They aren’t rich by any means but if you aren’t running a Macbook, iPad, and iPhone then what are you doing with your life? They have no idea how to use most of their devices and they also have to watch every youtube ad on their official youtube client… HAHAAHAHAAHHA
Not being locked to one ecosystem and being forced to do everything the ‘Apple’ way. One of the biggest annoyances I have is being tech support for family with Apple products and they always ask why I am able to do stuff so easily with my ‘cheap android’.
Same problem I am having. But when I go to the instance that the community is on, I see all the posts. I guess it is a discrepancy between instances communicating with each other in real time. I dunno, I brought this up on another similar thread and my response only shows in my instance’s local community (if that makes sense) but it doesn’t show on the community’s actual home instance.
How has it been for you? I haven’t had much of an issue with battery life. On the days where I use my phone sparingly I get 2-3 days of life. On the days where I use it to browse, listen to music, and watch videos I may squeeze a full day.
One caveat for me however, I do use GrapheneOS and a great deal of google services are neutered on my phone.
