I thought you had to be 13 to post on lemmy

2·2 days agoWhy is it that I constantly see Apple being glazed for their thoughtfulness, but then on a regular basis I see news reporting that they’ve implemented a feature that their competitors have had for decades?
And the power button on the bottom of the computer really what the fuck? I guess people still bought their moronic bottom-charging-port mouse so why not

You can’t imagine someone like Elon musk or Donald Trump getting a critical feature wrong ?
Well the gas would be cheaper if they could somehow make it contain advertising and data theft

1·19 days agoNetherlands gas taxes are €0.845/L , supposedly the highest in the EU. Can’t blame the US for that, and at least you’re getting some value out of that gas tax. Here, though I too did not start this idiotic war, I don’t get anything for the higher prices except richer billionaires

1·21 days agoDidn’t bother reading your name because “simp harder” isn’t exactly a thought provoking reply, or are you so far up your own ass that you think it is?

1·22 days agoI hate this kind of thing because it 1) collectively punishes an entire class of people for crimes the majority didn’t commit and 2) almost certainly won’t solve the problem, because these kids are probably learning this behavior from whoever would be accompanying them anyway.
I guess at least they’ll have someone nearby to hold legally responsible 🤷

2·26 days agoYou’ve got to give anthropic some credit on that front - they’ve refused immoral money before (see the Pentagon declaring them a supply chain risk). Anthropic also has a vested interest in keeping these open source softwares secure, seeing as anthropic themselves use the software that would be vulnerable

25·1 month agoToo late for me. They’ve been actively antagonistic toward their users for over a decade so much so that it’s intensely unpleasant to use the OS. This walks one tiny thing back, I’m staying on Linux even if it means I can’t play GTA online

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•"Girl math" is a very defeatist term that never makes the speaker look good.
11·2 months agoThe host literally hears “girl math” and replies “this is not a joke!” - showing that he, as well as the vast majority of people who have heard the phrase, knows that it’s an inherently and intentionally unserious way of looking at financial decisions.
Nobody in that clip is SERIOUSLY thinking their “girl math” is correct. They’re using it as humor to cope with feeling overwhelmed.
It’s not being used in a serious context.

Sparks fears? No, stupid, these aren’t fears. The US government HAS set us back decades at a minimum and is continuing to do more damage
