*Mediocrity, mediocre

There used to be a stretch of abandoned/closed road because of the heat underneath degrading the earth beneath it. It became a party spot for locals and travellers alike, in the wilderness of an evacuated town. Graffitti Highway is unfortunately covered by loose gravel and sand now to discourage people from making such an incredicle mess in the woods.
While Centralia may be mostly empty today, the surrounding areas still have quite a few people still living there, who care what their backyards look like.
When I was there I parked to see the sights. I got out near the cemetary because the view over the town below is exceptional. While walking down the street I was stopped by an older couple, closer to retirement age than me, in their car which they rolled down the window and asked me:
“Do you know where the church that was saved from the fire is?”

Yes, for sure, which makes everyone more likely to crash by forcing them to speed up. Those crashes are also more likely to end with more injuries, or fatalities. This makes me a worse driver overall…

Agree they are safer, technically, youre just more likely to die from a collision on the freeway than street level. Probably because there is no cross traffic.
I wish staying to the right worked better. On Rt 60 there is a lot of on/off ramp traffic and some want to be in the left lane cut off by the midlane traffic where the right is actually where a lot more accidents happen.

In practice sure, cause people just want or need to go faster. In all reality speeding doesnt really get you anywhere faster. 10-20 miles per hour faster on a 1 hour trip isnt netting a lot of time. Speed limits are set based actual science to keep people alive, sometimes they are completely arbitrary though.

Anyone that doesnt agree is welcome to drive the I17/I10 and/or 202/101/60 any time. No one does the speed limit, 5-6 lane highways, wild lane changes and very bad decisions all around. It has made me a worse driver overall.

You cant sue the government, or use class action litigation

A correctly prepared tartare is safe and delicious. It is one of the best ways to taste the meat, as there is no cooking process to change the flavor. If you get a chance, considering its price, try it!

Cool, but, AZ education budget will be much closer to 0 so, like, one classroom will have all the kids and cameras. None of the private or charter schools will be able to have this forced down their throats.

Reagan sucked, the populists won twice over those two elections, a lot due to the problems created by the government before. Crap opposition, senators running around making their own wars in Afghanistan, corruption and grift was common too. A bit of it got found out eventually but no one was ever really held to account, aside from some symbolic justice. Reagan used his charisma and movie star name to boost the popular vote along with some very fancy work from the “RNC” of the time using the same tactics honed up from getting Nixon elected. It was definitely a different time, and a lot of whats happening today would have never been allowed, at least, not as far as it has been. Reagan and Trump are exactly two sides of the same coin, at least Reagan had manners and would pretend to be stately and magnanimous.

The only people I know that have stayed at a job, like a career some over 20 years now, are those that work at Costco. Excellent benefits, near Union, good pay, good hours, all their coworkers seem like decent community. I have nothing negative to say about Costco.

Truckers arent going to be driving anywhere if the price of diesel doesnt slow.

Hows Puscifer sound? Love that album

This headline is bogus. Theres an uptick in detection of rabid species in California, near the bay area where this publication is from. Exposure to rabies is 100% fatal if untreated, it does not elicidate that information until about 15 paragraphs in.

Tragic story of bad marketing…

I have found my people

Back in my day, we took the MRE instant coffee and packed it in behind the bottom lip and gum, like tabacco. It was awful, but no hot water and long days need caffeine; Im almost thankful for Rip-its. I make coffee now by microwaving a cup of cold tap, then adding a spoonful of instant. It is fast and makes a good cup. Pretty sure every coffee snob would not talk to me.
For off topic bad posts, yes
