Try the Dualsense. If it works well for you, save the money and buy a game instead. If it doesn’t, get an 8bitdo controller.

I gave up after ~2 hours, since I didn’t enjoy driving around the world, but in that time it performed great on the Steam Deck.

I wondered the same thing too, but have ended up with:

• a 512GB SD card
• using a spare USB-C dock that I already had
• two PS5 controllers for couch multiplayer.

• Couch multiplayer on the TV with my partner.
• Couch solo gaming, while hanging out with my partner, to stop myself being isolated awayiny computer room.

Ori and the Will of the Wisp is a good metroidvania, with nice ambiance/music, but the story is a bit generic. It plays well on the Steam Deck, as I guess most metroidvanias do.

It would be interesting to see which games are popular on Steam Deck that aren’t popular on other devices (I.e. games well suited to the Steam Deck) and vice versa (I.e. games not well suited to the Steam Deck).

How do you handle multiple games at once? I’m also trying to play most of my worthwhile games to at least finish the main storyline/quests.

I try to games that don’t have overlapping mechanics: if I’m in the mood for a puzzle, I play Baba is You. If I want something more casual, I play Sonic Racing.

Sometimes I do forget games, but I don’t mind if that happens. Some games just don’t stick. I try to buy games only when on discount, so I don’t feel bad if I stop playing it.

I usually complete games, but never to 100%. What attracts me to a game is not usually what’s involved in getting to 100% (e.g. I like the Arkham series just for gliding and stealth, so I don’t bother with the Riddler collectibles)

• Broforce: fun but gets repetitive.
• Ori and the Will of the Wisps: great.
• The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe: a worthy successor.

I replaced my broken Logitech F710 with a PS5 Controller.

The only advantages of the PS5 controller are gyro support, saving a USB port, and USB-C charging.

I’d stick with the Logitech F710.

There are some indie games on steam you can try as well but they are more arcady.

In the end I went with Soccer Cup Pixel. It’s decent, and worked out the box. Thanks for the suggestion!

+1 to Ludusavi. It auto detects savegame paths based on pcgamingwiki. Great design!
