So, it took me embarrassingly many shopping trips to remember to buy kefir. But I finally did. For reference, I chose Andechser Bio Kefir. But to be honest I didn’t find the lid dripping. I shook before I opened and it was still fine. Repeated that a couple of times. Decided to leave some for the next day, maybe the consistency would change after opening. Still fine. Then I decided to let it warm to room temperature and still no dripping.

So unfortunately I cannot reproduce the scientific findings of @frosch.

I’m sorry but when I read “pride month is defeated” in the context of a heterosexual engagement my mind immediately assumes the dude is a closeted homosexual who chose her as his beard instead of coming out. And this is how he “defeated pride”. By choosing a heteronormative lifestyle over his actual preferences.

The most optimistic scenario my head can come up with to make the sentence make sense would be that she’s bisexual and because of him she chose to commit to a heteronormative relationship.

Bro, me too - but for August 2017.

For context, I missed the eclipse in Germany in 1999 because we were visiting family abroad with my mom. So we said back then that we will find a way to see an eclipse. That was before the internet, my dad and sister had VHS taped the event from TV and there was a graph with dates and a map for future eclipses so we kinda knew that sometime in 201x there will be one in the USA.

Fast forward 17 years and we start planning. For us this includes not just an oversea flight and expensive hotels but also getting visas (we’re not German) and finding how to get to the place in the USA that is least likely to be clouded and we both don’t drive.

It’s very weird because I am usually a prejudiced asshole about such things, but when I hear of Daniel Radcliffe, my mind doesn’t instantly go to Harry Potter. It goes to his other performances. And this despite being the Harry Potter generation, I grew up with the franchise, being about 13 when the first book came out. Still, Daniel Radcliffe is the weird guy from Swiss Army Man and Guns Akimbo first, then everything else. So, cudos to him. You, sir, farted your way out of the Harry Potter association. Congrats.

As a parent with a toddler who seems to be light-years away from understanding this concept, when do you think that understanding starts to kick in? Like, what can I expect at age 5 or 7?

I had milk soup as a kid, warm milk with sugar and very small pasta (stars or letters), if that counts.

But anyway, it’s a weird question. Anything you want is a “normal” breakfast. I think it’s Mongolia where they have an offal meat smoothie for traditional breakfast.
