  • If you can’t tell the difference, then you’re either getting shitty stuff, or getting something that’s mostly balanced with a slight leaning one way or the other.

Get some that’s got a bigger split and then see how you feel. Sativa is way more fun, and is my preference most of the time. But I live in an area that for whatever reason most of what’s available is indica, or a balanced hybrid. So better than none. But man I wish sativa was easier to get locally.

  • People aren’t complaining about it’s mere existence.

They’re complaining about the fact that its presence inherently implies an expectation to tip. And empathic people that are patronizing a merchant that has any amount of service provided will, when blatantly presented the option to tip, feel obligated to, especially since the person that will be getting the tip is typically staying at them while they complete the process.

Now you can say something like “get over it”, but lots of people don’t like being made to feel like that. Even the ones that do still put their foot down and refuse still don’t enjoy being asked.

I would venture to guess that even people who like tipping enjoy it more when it’s not an obvious option, because offering one at all makes it feel like a grander gesture.

The option to tip has always existed, but making it more streamlined and impossible to auto skip it is just uncomfortable. Not choosing to and intentionally choosing not to are different things, and it makes people uncomfortable.

  • I don’t know what the explanation will be, but the “get rid of” definition usage will be hard to argue against, and that’s what it seems to man here.

Personally I hope his “execution” will be public and well-evidenced so I can bask in the happiness for years to come. None of this “his body got dropped in the ocean” crap or whatever it was they said about Osama.

It will probably be a while before I can do so easily, as we’ll have to deal with the aftermath for a while. But hopefully we can undo all his bs relatively quickly, and then we can celebrate properly.

I wanna see immediate economic growth, big specials, etc for a public acknowledgement that it is ok to celebrate the death of the wicked witch.

  • It is can’t because this is how the door gets pushed open to making more and more paid versions of the operating system.

This invites more capitalistic practices into the “market”, and is what starts the downward trend.

I’m ok with selling software. But selling the OS at all just seems like a big step that should never be taken.

Selling a paid upgrade is kind of a gray area, but it should be an extra piece that gets installed separately, cross-compatible where possible, and shouldn’t affect your ability to upgrade versions for damn sure. I’ve never dealt with it directly, but if it’s like you said and you need to do a complete reinstall to upgrade versions but downgrade from pro to regular, then you’ve already detected the first tumor.

It is a really simple mod to make. Any modder could do it, most likely, using original controllers even- the only thing stopping it is Nintendo themselves and their copyright. Using a 2.4ghz connection would be much better than Bluetooth as well. That’s something Nintendo would have to implement into the console most likely, although I can see that being doable.

Plus, their controllers are only really “good” for nostalgia reasons. They’ve been improved on in every way by others.

IMO they haven’t done anything good for the industry at all lately. I’m not saying the other consoles have either, I think they’re all shit. Mainly because of exclusives. Fuck that entire concept at it’s very core.

Hardware exclusives, OS exclusives, etc are all bad.

Nintendo is going the extra shitty mile with the way they handle copyright in particular, but the entire console industry is corrupt.

If there is a machine with enough computing power to run a piece of software, it should be able to do it, period. That is the technological ideal that should be aimed at. Not the “how much can I charge for the ability to play this game” idea.
