H.G. Wells literally wrote a novel about the class divide being so severe it turned humanity into two entirely different species in the distant future.
I love the atmosphere of his novels, but he was an archetypal “left-lib” sort. Even lowkey defending colonialism in one of his books because it “educated the natives.”
